Frieren Deserves It's Acclaim

Image
Frieren got a lot of positive reputation recently for being the highest-rated anime of all time in its time of airing during the 2nd cour. This isn’t like your typical boosted score from the season, as it’s 23 episodes in and still has a really high rating, so I started it to see why. Boy, was I blown away by the first episode. I knew Madhouse was a powerhouse of anime, and this anime finally showed the studio’s true colors. Now at first, I thought this anime would have been a generic RPG fantasy world anime, but it’s far from that. An elf that is basically immortal or ages very slowly has a party of humans and a dwarf. A few years to her seems like decades, and she goes through the loss of human life through aging; it’s kind of like Maquia, where it’s about mortality, but as a two-cour length anime. Not hitting hard but keeping the sentiment of what it is to be human with beautiful visuals, sound, and animation, with an ending song that hits you right in the heart as well. It just be

Uramichi Oniisan Now that it's the new year, have you ever had worries about the future? Well, why not watch an anime that pokes fun at life and the troubles of growing old  Have you ever wanted to be honest at work and say anything on your mind? Have you ever not felt a hundred percent and want to tell everyone how you feel? Well, this anime called Uramichi Oniisan is about Uramichi Omota and the other adults who work with children on a television show where they entertain them and give advice. However, Uramichi goes on tangents about his depressive thoughts, which is done in a way that makes it into surreal humour and flips it so suddenly which makes it extremely hilarious. One day while bored out of my mind, I came across this anime from an instagram reel of the voice actor just genuinely dying of laughter, and they left it in; which made me want to watch this. It goes to show that this anime is a fun watch because the voice actors were just messing around and having a genuinel

When the Villian was Right | Collab

Image
This blog will be about the most interesting parts of anime, villains. In the industry the villains always seem to be more interesting than the heroes in most cases, as I feel that more thought is actually put into them and love from the creator. It’s why series like naruto or hunter x hunter, the villain seem better as a character than the others. Well, all my villain fans, you are in luck as I have gotten me and my friends to talk about antagonists or villains that could be good and were right all along. This is a special collab that we have worked hard on, so please like this post, read and maybe comment you thoughts By Mike Lee Shoya Ishida Shoya Ishida (Silent Voice) at the beginning of the manga is shown to be a little boy who is extremely bored.  Dragon Ball The most motivational and inspirational anime I’ve ever watched has got to be Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Starting with the original DB which is pureness at heart with a young Son Goku heart of gold who can always laugh and have fun no matter what happens teaches the type of mindset that you need in life. As no matter what happens in life, you must think of the bright sight which builds strength of the mind, grown up Goku has this mindset but you can see it in its truest form in the original. Goku has this mindset which is how he is able to enjoy every day to its fullest without having all the tribulations stop his tracks as he has amazing mental fortitude. OG DB Goku has that naivety as a child even as an adult which shows how he can do so much as he is not worrying about everything or doubts his worth and he has so much dedication you can’t help but be motivated like him. His dedication to everything is infectious in its final form, if you have seen a lot of Dragon Ba

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop

Spoilers Ahead The movie when I first saw it stood out for me so incredibly, right from the start the art style is so different from any other movie I’ve seen by having dazzling types of high contrast, flat colors with little shading which looks like something that Takashi Murakami would make. Even though it has this unique art style, it still feels like a real movie and the bright colors really make everything pop, with shots of scenery that I really loved when I first watched this anime. The anime is about a girl named Smile which she calls herself that and is an idol on a livestream app. She meets a boy named Cherry, where all the characters do not have actual names except one minor character. They both share insecurities, Cherry has social anxiety and uses headphones to comfort him and Smile is conscious about her teeth and uses a mask to hide while also being a micro idol online. When Cherry gets too overwhelmed, he turns red hence why he is called Cherry; it shows the problems th

Insomniacs After Dark

Image
A recent anime called Insomniacs After School grabbed my attention as someone who has had insomnia since the age of 10, this anime shows a part of insomniacs that day enjoyers don’t know about and has the effects or feelings that people with this condition exhibit. I loved this anime so much when I was watching it, and it is the perfect anime to watch when you can’t sleep as well. What I liked about this anime is that it has a very calm feeling like you are laying down looking at the night sky and inhabiting those feelings so well. The feeling of this anime is so unique from its incredible styled soundtrack being a slow bpm with a soothing guitar or soothing vocals and the rest of the music being very cutesy with an amazing opening as well, just makes watching this anime even more enjoyable for me. The vibe on this anime is very sleepy or dreamy, kind of calm when it’s night and they are doing their activity or chatting, it’s like staying up in sleepover. You get to experience this vi

Amanchu

Iyashikei is probably my favourite subgenre of anime. Iyashikei is a subgenre of a slice of life meant to relax the audience and unwind to the point it has a healing effect on the audience that has heartwarming moments and an escape from reality. One of my favourites of this genre that I feel like no one ever talks about or a lot of fans of the show is Amanchu!. The anime is sort of like Aria, with being heavily inspired by the anime, but also it’s different because it doesn’t have fantasy and is about diving. There’s something about combining sports or activities like fishing or diving or shogi or school band and slice of life really goes well together; as well as bringing you back to a more simpler time in your life where everything was easier, and I believe that is the purpose for slice of life. I love this anime to death, even though it gets an average score, but to me I actually don’t know why it’s like that because it’s amazing. The story is about a green-haired girl called Hika

Haibane Renmai

Image
Haibane Renmei is about a girl called Rakka who is reborn as an angel from a cocoon and doesn’t remember who she is or anything about her which is common with the other people she lives with. Rakka develops wings, as it’s common with the people like her who were also from cocoon’s. Rakka goes throughout the story, with dissociation from herself and the world; I can’t stump what her purpose is in the world or why she’s there. Her wings get darker and full of oil when her mental state is worsening and at the start she has to develop her wings, which was very brutal to experience being in her shoes. I’d have to compare her character to Lain where she is listless all the time, and is always curious about outside her little village which she is not allowed out of without someone else. This anime shows that everyone faces the same issues with existence but doesn’t show and has to find their peace in the world or be ignorant of it. It also has themes of the afterlife as they are reborn into
