 Favourite Rivalry in Anime/Manga -

My favourite rivalry in anime would have to be Zoro and Sanji from the anime One Piece, the dynamic between the two of both being super alike to each other because everyone of the strawhats are friends so the type of rivalry they have isn’t with any bad blood. Zanji are always neck and neck with each other because of how similar to one another they are, Luffy’s crew always dreams to be the best so the two of them fight to be the better man by comparing bounties. This creates silly shenanigans they both do which at times can be just to out petty the other one which creates for hilarious moments with the two fighting, where it would start with one of them dissing the other with some funny joke and they’d start to duke it out. The comedy in One Piece never gets old for me just like when Brook says his classic line “But I'm already dead” and id crack up even though I heard it 100 times; just like when Soro fight they could have the same gimmick they diss each other than have a fight and it repeat for a few minutes and it would be hilarious. As the two characters are already very popular and well liked so seeing them fight to see who better makes for a comedic moment or some of the best scenes in the anime.



Not only comedy be used for their rivalry but also some super serious moments that show that actually they are rivals because they have huge respect for eachother like two fighters in a ring, that’s what the both of them are. When the bells ring they fight but when it is over, at the end of the day they show sportsmanship and honour to another; just like when the Kuma android attacked, and they fought about who would sacrifice each other which ultimately is Zoro and showed that Sanji actually cares about him. That’s why they’re my favourite duo because they can have rivalry that isn’t one sided or forced as it shows an actual genuine competition between them. A good rivalry can be underdog vs champ but also people who at equal strengths, that is what they have and in my opinion that's the best kind of rivalry because sometimes they fight and it’s a stalemate or one gets an upper hand on another but overall you can never know for certain who is the stronger one in the rivalry. Which makes it exciting and interesting being that way, and they can be around one another without fighting 24/7 like some shounen anime do and it gets boring after a while. They know when to fight and it is in the perfect moment of the scene which makes it even more genuine because it feels like two real people have an old fashioned rivalry. It makes it awesome seeing two amazing characters push themselves to get better by fighting, as from the outside it seems like they are doing it for no reason but actually they are making a game to see who gets stronger so that pushes them to go beyond their limits. Which is why they both power up so quickly through having that motivation to beat the other one when they next battle. Which is why they are one of the best rivals in anime.

Blood on the Tracks I don’t read a lot of mangas but when I do; it is always manga that I feel are amazing and this is one of them. This being created by the mangaka of Flowers of Evil brings another thriller that is relatable to some and a unique way to have horror about trauma. Seiichi being a kid's life is controlled by his mother and she being super manipulative being the main thriller of the manga, makes a weird way of showing how scary a parent can be. He has to deal with her gaslighting him into believing being himself is wrong and he can’t have any freedom because it’s controlled by his Mother. It is an unsettling horror to read for someone who dealt with it but it portrays it incredibly well with the story being on edge the entire read, I couldn’t stop reading this and it's a fast read as well.
