Clannad

Image
Welcome, this anime is in my top ten anime of all time and here's why Soundtrack What makes this anime so sad is the soundtrack for Clannad. My favourite song on this is Dango Dango Daikazoku, if you haven’t seen this show then (I don’t why you are reading this) you don’t know how tragic this song is as from someone who hasn’t seen it. Dango family sounds like a very soothing and sweet song but after you finish this anime; listen to it again and then your perception of it will change. Like the show, the song starts very simple but when you get to around halfway it always brings tears to me and makes me cry as it's the same song used in Nagisa’s death. At the same time it is very beautiful and a masterpiece of a song. After the arson attack on Kyoto animation, I have to pay respects to Yoshiji Kigami, Futoshi Nishiya and others it couldn’t be possible without these people to make this beautiful piece of art, this is my tribute back to them. The Dango song gets changed so many t...

Why Sakura Haruno is Useless

Original Naruto When I think of the most annoying character in anime, the first person that comes to mind is Sakura Haruno and rightfully so; In Naruto, she is always dreaming about Sasuke throughout the show even her crush finds her that way. She may be the brains and have perfect scores but when it comes to an actual fight she is outshined by the others. Even on missions she just tends to Sasuke in the Land of Tea escort mission while Naruto beats the bad guy; my opinion is that Sakura should have never been in the trio. Imagine how much better it would have been with someone strong and useful. The chunin exams she ties in battle with Ino a slightly better girl character than Sakura but Ino is just Sakura 2.0 and in the tournament, she adds nothing to it except cheering for Sasuke. I have never hated a character as much as her because of how her character is in general. There are plenty of times where Sakura wasn’t needed or unwanted, for me because remember when Sasuke gets the...

Poetry in Anime

When I saw there was a poetry challenge I knew I had to enter, the reason for entering is that in English I always loved poetry, but I hardly did it in school because you have to do essays on books like Animal Farm and Macbeth which I hated. I’m saying that it was the only thing I liked in the lesson, it is kind of ironic that a kid who hated English classes now blogs for fun on an anime app; oh, how far I have fallen. The second and main reason I wanted to join the challenge wasn’t for a title, it wasn’t for fame, but instead, it was for the meme because I did coma cosplay. I thought it would be perfect for doing a sequel to that blog and make coma poetry, its like the stars aligned. I have to do it, anyway I have been rambling for too long and let’s play a game said Jigsaw-coma sama; see if you can guess what anime I’m writing about in the poem before it is revealed. Good Luck! (FYI, these poems are free form poetry) Poem 1 Bounded by a promise, forever in debt Wish to talk but ...

Favourite Movie  Hey guys, it’s Cona about to recommend you one of the most must watch anime movies ever. He gets captured by the government military who experiment on him which causes him to have said powers, he escapes and his powers unstable the military attempt to capture him before his destructive powers are unleashed. Akira is a cyberpunk futuristic supernatural adventure movie from the 80s which went on to influence not only anime but a lot of pop culture in America and all around the world even the matrix was influenced from Akira, which was way before it’s time. Not only has Akira influenced a majority of sci-fi genre but Akira also is very much reminiscence of western culture so it’s a perfect gateway anime for any new anime watchers or even people who don’t watch ...

Norse Mythology in Anime

This blog is tough to do as I didn’t know anything about Norse mythology because I had to do a lot of research and reading. I’m even writing this when I’m sick because I can’t let some flu virus get in the way of this. I will be comparing anime characters I like to Norse mythology; this is a series of mine where I get something random (aka blank put it in anime), and I make a blog about it like Greek mythology and Chinese philosophy (yin and yang). This time I’m doing Norse Mythology suggested by my good friend Twin, who slightly inspired me to do this even though I already had it in my planner for so long, so I may as well make it when I’m ill. It’s the next day of writing as my head wasn’t computing, so here goes nothing, although I am worse than before. SPOILER WARNING   for Code Geass, Sankarea and Children of the Whales Rea Sanka – Hel Sankarea When researching for this blog, I found out about the goddess of the dead, just like Hel Rea is also half dead and alive, so it’...

Unorthodox Shounen

Image
Welcome to the collaborative blog with the great Kona-sama and lovely Neko, this collab will be about the shounen genre but something you didn’t expect, we will be talking about the shounen genre in general and also why these shounen anime or some aspects of them don’t really belong or fit the shounen genre for several reasons. I know shounen is just a demographic or is shounen because it was in shounen jump. Even though there is no set requirements for a shounen anime there some similarities, troupes, settings, clichés, etc. that make a shounen. Shounen is also considered to be a genre itself by a lot of people and these anime shouldn’t be even for that age range either even though Japan has stigma about what it considers to be for adults, I know that Japan is way different from western culture but I’m talking about the demographic to the western world as well so keep that in mind. All demographic info will be from MyAnimeList. This blog has some political correctness and is purely ou...

Nichijou

Introduction I am going to be talking about one of my favourite anime called Nichijou which literally means My Everyday Life. I am going to be talking one of my favourite Anime called Nichijou which means My Everyday Life, having a title called My Ordinary Life for this Anime is very ironic because this Anime is far from being ordinary. It is an amusing contrast that this Anime takes itself very seriously like it is an actual school anime but also tries to be as random and as absurd as it can be which is why it is so enjoyable because it makes even the smallest details like Mio hair beads thing into an entire comedic stories which are very impressive. This attention to more information is insanely genius because it builds up this fantastic story just for the punchline, which is sometimes very short. The execution of it is intelligently done as it is hilarious, which makes it the best comedy anime you can find. There is never a dull moment watching this Anime as it is just filled w...

Dragon Pilot

Hi guys it’s me Coma formerly known as kona and I will be talking about an exceptionally good anime that was swept under the rug in spring 2018 so I’m here to give it some recognition it deserves with this post. Dragon pilot aka Hisone to Maso-tan is an amazing anime which is an innocently enjoyable anime at first with has an amazing plot under another deep story at the end and should get a second season, for real. It has 7.5 on MAL and I feel like it deserves to be higher, so I’ll tell you why. Nostalgia? Now you’re thinking a drama of a girl and a dragon is nostalgic, nani the heck? Well yes! Some of you youngsters out their might not of grew up with such classic like land before time or a more unknown one that reminds me of this show is A Dinosaur’s story which was an animated movie that I had as a VHS as a kid and would watch it to make me fall asleep. I have very fond memories of the movie and this anime reminds me of it a lot, I don’t know what it is but dinosaurs and humans...

Magnificence of Manga Artwork

What Makes Manga Art so Great? What makes manga art so great? Manga is a medium that doesn’t get much love in the otaku community compared to anime, especially blogs about manga are a rarity on aa; so I decide to make some appreciation for manga in this blog. Manga is amazing, it's like comic books but 100 times better. It can come in a million forms, not one manga is the same which is why it so interesting. Unlike novels manga has imagery so you don’t have to read that much which is why anyone can get into reading manga because sometimes I would find myself reading for hours at a time and didn’t even realise how long I had been reading. It’s a much better alternative to anime as sometimes you might not have enough time to invest hours into watching a show but if you read the manga it will take a portion of the time and if you have bad internet then watching anime is hell but you can read manga with bad connection or takes less space to download as opposed to anime. Most manga art...

Perfect Blue 1998

Story The story for Perfect Blue is simply a masterpiece of psychological thriller and disturbing in a way, the whole anime is a trippy one it revolves around the struggles of women in the entertainment industry which when this was made the internet was just a new concept so Satoshi Kon focused it on the new technology and perfectly predicts what could happen with the age of people behind there screen obsessing over celebrities. Mima starts off as an idol but because of obsessive fans that are outraged then proceed to send her hate mail and death threats she decides to leave the group which is what starts the psychological trauma after gets offered an acting role but it has a rape scene in; Rumi doesn’t want Mima to do it but she decides to do it, now this when the movie starts getting weird when she does the scene she actually believe she is getting raped the scene is really disturbing and spooky this starts of Mima being disconnected by reality and thinks her fantasy of her acti...
