An Underrated Classic - Ushio to Tora

Image
Welcome to another anime recommendation blog, this time I’m doing Ushio to Tora (2015) which is an anime I found some under-appreciated in the community and no one hardly talks about which is a shame to be honest. There will be little spoilers in this blog, and doesn’t really talk about the plot, just about the overall evaluation. Ushio to Tora is a very unique anime, as you can see when you first get into it is the art-style straight off the bat. As the anime is animated by the notable MAPPA studio back in 2015, the art is very interesting and found it very original to other stuff I have seen; which is what MAPPA has always done to me. Many people, including me, have said that it is reminiscent of 80s anime but modernised; this style couldn’t be better for this anime as the source material is from the 90s. It gives me massive respect to MAPPA, because they were clearly thinking about the fans of the series as they were remaking it to a newer generation, and it’s what I love to se...

A Great Batsu Game - Tomodachi Game

Back in action!! I recently came back to watching anime after a year, and I left some seasonal anime. A few stood out to me, this is one of them. Mostly spoiler free. I always knew about the manga from a friend, but never actually got into it until the anime aired in April last year. I was always meaning to get into psychological anime, but I forget to because I focus on my huge backlog of shows I must watch or already started from seasonal anime. This anime has always stood out to me because penalty games anime are a small trend, although still quite a few of them. However, this trend is full of anime that always fall flat on their faces during the runtime, but Tomodachi Game managed to keep my interest really high throughout the whole show. The anime is about a small group of friends, when things go astray and money is stolen by someone, that makes them get put into a batsu game with a live audience to repay their debt. The catch is to test their friendship by games based on tru...

$uicideboy$ are my Favourite Artist

$uicideboy$ is a rap duo from New Orleans, Louisiana. Comprising of Ruby Da Cherry (Aristos Petrou) and $crim (Scott Anthony Arceneaux Jr) who make Horrorcore Rap, coming from the soundcloud rap scene in 2014, gained popularity in 2016 for their edginess and a cult following since. $B is my favourite music artist of all time. Their older music consists more of hard-hitting verse and dark lyrics, even called satanist at times. The boy$ make music for people going through mental illnesses such as depression or addiction. Their music always talks about the demons that they have faced and uses their songs to express their mental state. They can be seen as abrasive and too dramatic at times for people who are new and don’t understand them. Their music gives something for people going through suicidal thoughts and depression, something to cope with and to relate. It shows others that they are not alone in fighting their own demons and struggling. It helps others cope with it. Their older mus...

Rocket League

Rocket League is a game with rocket powered cars on a pitch the aim of the game is to win the game by scoring goals just like the game soccer, you can flip and boost to go fast. With up to 8 player game modes such as 4v4 or 2v2 or 3v3 or 1v1 also has ice hockey and basketball game modes too. Each mode you need different playstyles for; like with 1v1 you can't just stay out the box when the opponent has the ball or you cant save the goal, losing the ball can be detrimental to the game. With it being cars you also demolition cars like a derby, doing them to score is a scummy tactic and don't be surprised for them to be toxic back and do it back. Rocket League can be the most frustrating game since how much everything is down to muscle memory and slightly touches can miss or score so pros will put as much time training than in games just to get better. Rocket League was aquired by Epic Games in 2020, which gave the game more stable servers support as before it had issues. Removing...

Yume Nikki

Image
Yume Nikki the game that inspired Undertale and Omori, this 2004 Japanese 2d game made in rpg maker is a very surreal experience to be had. You play as this girl who goes to bed to wake up in a dream world, outside her room are different world to be explored and find effects that you can use to get other items such the umbrella to remove fire or to receive the game ending which will not spoiled. This game is free to play on steam and it's old so anything can play it. Do it, if you're not easily unsettled. Yume Nikki is basically like taking acid but as a visual walkthrough. This game isn't about gameplay, but about an experience and adventure. With it's limited capabilities, it really does set the world of Yume Nikki and I found the game super surreal and scary somehow, Yume Nikki does a perfect job at putting you uneased at all times, even though nothing really happens; the music soundtrack (which is now one of my favourites of all time) and visual really fit perfectly...

Alice in Murderland

Alice in Murderland is a twisted take on the most well-known well-known work of literature, Alice in Wonderland. Alice, a high school girl actually named Stella, throws a tea party, a family tradition. Her family lives in a mansion in a forest, the whole family dressed up as a cult fairytale like her younger sister is little red riding hood and her mother is the Queen from Alice in Wonderland and her father is The Mad Hatter. In this “Tea Party” all the children have to fight to the death for an heir to the Kuonji estate. To stop them from refusing not to take part in the Tea Party battle royale, the Queen puts something in the tea that if you don't drink at least once a month, you'll die. In this version, the Mad Hatter and the Queen are in a relationship being the parents, which is slightly unexpected from the original, but I guess it works with the context. After that the parents set off a trap door pulling everyone into a different world, there's a constant metaphor of...

How to Enjoy Anime

After my blog hiatus from this amino and taking a break from anime for almost all of 2021, I am back to watching anime. I enjoy blogging so when I watch anime I always have ideas of what to talk about or blog ideas, so I told you I’ll blog when I feel like it. This blog will be sort of like my common misconceptions part 2. The title is more clickbait and catchy than what it actually is about. The blog is not a guide to enjoy anime but traps that people fall into that make it less enjoyable for themselves or others, like unspoken rules. A lot of the topics may be seen as obvious, yet I don't hear enough people say this and this is more for inexperienced watchers who may think the opposite because they are forced to. Also, it's what I've saw on review after review from serious reviewers, so I thought it would be cool to talk about. I couldn't think of a better title without it being too long so oop. No Nitpicking What a lot of critical reviewers and bloggers like to take...

An Introvert's Anime

Image
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•* This is about a gem of an anime called Hitoribocchi. I know introversion isn't social anxiety but introvert sounds better sociophobe. Hitoribocchi is about an introverted girl who makes a promise to her childhood friend to make friends with everyone in her middle school and if she doesn’t, she will not be friends with her anymore. This slice of life anime is the most relatable anime I have ever watched, for me; as it’s the prime example of social anxiety or phobia in anime that does it perfectly in every way. Of course, it’s anime, so everything is very exaggerated to get the point across and so it is light-hearted in nature. I love this anime because it brings my favourite genre, slice of life, moe blob and very personal topic for me all together into an original premise for the school slice of life genre that is quite overdone, but this anime brings unique character that all iconic; every character in this anime is very purposeful for Bocchi a...

Gleipnir Anime was a Letdown

Image
I recently finished Gleipnir and it made me so baffled, I had to write this so yeah. Contains spoilers This had so much potential to be a very good anime and when I say that I mean it, think of how good Parasyte, Parasite was and this could have been at the tier, but of course, the main character is too wimpy for that. Do you love wimpy shrimp main characters or, aka the Shinji syndrome, do you love a show that keeps on making you question every decision? Then “oh boy, do I have a show for you”. I can see why some people liked this, but after finishing it, I have a lot more dissatisfaction than anything. Have you ever wanted to like something, but it keeps on disappointing, well that’s what I felt watching this all the way through. This anime had a fascinating and eye-catching beginning, the concept of the show I really loved; with the whole collecting coins for wishes, but as I saw more and more, the whole thing left more to be desired and questions than a coherent story. Now, it...

The Best

Image
Sometimes anime gets reality better than what almost everyone perceives it to be and can even teach us more than we know ourselves, with many limitless subjects to be invested into; it is no wonder why anime is so popular and becoming more acceptable (except by boomers) Today I will explore what anime gets just right about things few get right.  Anime/Manga - One Punch Man Rating - 1000/10 Creator - ONE The thing that I really love about One Punch Man is that it's a light-hearted tone throughout the show which doesn’t take itself seriously but at the same it’s very serious in what the product offers because; most series show you all the potential in one go to reel in the viewers, then relax and make easy bank by doing as low effort content as possible. However, what One does is he never stops in quality and great content; by never overselling his product with smoke and mirrors. In turn never stopping in having the most outstanding scenes, characters, and always new introducti...
